Aloni House was a fantastic venue for 6 Scots and 1 Kiwi to celebrate their 50th birthday re-union. The last time we were in Crete together was on a school trip 34 years ago in 1977 when we hiked through The White Mountains and The Samaria Gorge, sleeping under the stars! This time we "did" the gorge but instead of rucksacks, sleeping bags and Kendal mint cake we wanted to do it in a bit more style. Aloni House provided that and more. A wonderful, luxurious stay with lots of fun and games. This house has been a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool was 1st class, amongst the best we have seen. The BBQ area was incredible but the odd extra light would come in useful. The service staff were brilliant, fast, cheerful and efficient! The beds were very comfy and there was loads of storage space and the bathrooms were perfect. We did have problems keeping the shutters, doors and windows from blowing to in the wind and the TV was out of action some of the time but this did not spoil a wonderful week - thanks- September 2011

We had a wonderful week in your beautiful Aloni House with its stunning views, landscaped gardens and wonderful pool. The flowers and scents are amazing and a riot of colour with the bougainvillea, hibiscus, oleander and jasmine. We are a group of close friends who have been together every summer for 25 years. This year we wanted something really special and Aloni House has lived up to all our expectations and more (so much so it could become a regular annual event). It is our last evening together and we have had supper here and relived Mamma Mia to the sounds of Abba. Thank you for having such a special place. We made it to Crete at last!! There were so many hurdles to overcome on the way. I'm glad we arrived here safely as the villa has been everything we hoped for and more besides. it has been blissful, the superb house, the lovely garden and pool, the amazing scenery, wild flowers and bird song have combined to provide a great holiday. My family really loved the villa especially the pool. I loved exploring every corner of the villa's garden. We had a great time here at this amazing villa, it seems you thought of everything - from the view, the house, the lighting, the kitchen and everything else! Thank you for two wonderful weeks. The weather was a bit variable but that did not limit our enjoyment. The palace of Knossos is a must as is Chania town where we found some marvellous tavernas overlooking the harbour. When we strayed from the villa, we spent most of our time in Georgioupolis, the Kalavaki beach there is very peaceful and clean. We though the tavernas in Georgioupolis were diverse and good. A beautiful and well appointed villa with an excellent pool and views to die for. It was so nice that we found it hard to venture out much. If I had to criticise anything and I am reluctant, it would be that we would have appreciated more local information re the best tavernas and shops - many thanks from us all ~ September 2009

A fantastically equipped base. We really enjoyed the outside areas and gardens - everything you could possibly need for an amazing holiday. Walking the local lanes was particularly enjoyable and the nearby village of Kournas gave us a real sense of Crete. Kalavaki beach is a must, we leave a little piece of our heart here!! ~ August 2009
