I have limited time to write a message as we have a plane to catch so I’ll keep it short. Aloni House is amazing, from the views to the pool, rooms, kitchen, lounge & balconies, it is all 5*. The restaurants along the Karvos strip are great, but if you want a real treat, pop into Georgeopolis  to Paradise or Mythos. The food is outstanding!. Also Seven Souls Taverna along the beach is worth a stop at. Thanks for an amazing holiday & hopefully one day we shall return. Lots of love the Newmans. - June 2014

Thank you for a fantastic week at Aloni House!. We loved the pool, the BBQ area and the cooler balcony. The views are stunning and Aloni House is clearly the best villa in the area!. A wonderful backdrop for our school friend reunion (we all turned 30 this year), so thanks ever so much for providing us with such a stunning base. We will be spreading the word of Aloni House back in the UK! - July 2014

Is there a better house in Crete? this is our second visit and it gets better every time. The gardens have matured well (it’s a shame the fruits from the trees weren’t quite ripe). Kournas village is still a joy day or night – lazing under the mulberry trees enjoying the local wines and the food at Babis. We have enjoyed the expansive grounds searching for the engraved plaques (not easy to find). Kalavaki is a great beach, also Preveli  (if you can handle the drive). We hope to come back soon. Thanks for sharing this amazing house with us. The Clarks, Surrey. - July/Aug 2014

You have a really splendid property here which made the perfect setting for a family holiday, suiting the 80+ age group to the 16 year old. Leisurely breakfasts on the balcony in the refreshing breeze will be missed when back home, as will the warm evening bbq’s watching the sun set. The house was very comfortable and very spacious even with a large group. We enjoyed Kalivaki beach in Georgioupolis and the refreshingly cool water! The shops in Georgioupolis were also good with an excellent and very friendly butcher and a good bakery too. For the supermarket we found Anna’s one of the best and also very friendly. For local restaurants the first we tried was Markos’ Place on lake Kournas which we loved. Markos was our first introduction to the warm friendly Cretan hospitality; he is an excellent host, well worth making his acquaintance. We also enjoyed the Poseidon fish restaurant. Visited lots of beautiful places to discover gorges, beaches and mountains. Samaria Gorge is of course fantastic, Kalikrati is also very good, particularly if you go via the hairpin bend between Kalikrati and Kapsodas, not one for the faint hearted we can assure you. Also enjoyed Sougia, including the walk to Lissos and the beautiful beach that you get to – the best snorkelling we found. And Balos beach (though some of our party would have preferred taking the easy route of the boat to get there, not the rough road and the hike!). Spectacular beach though. We enjoyed a few walks in the mountains, including Gingilos overlooking the Samaria Gorge, but will return at a cooler time of year with back-packing gear to do more justice to the high peaks. A wonderful stay, and sorry to be returning home - July 2013

The year of the Queen’s Jubilee, the London Olympics and Para-Olympics; a special year to return as we said we would in June last year. A different month this time and again we’ve had a very special week at your beautiful Aloni House and glorious weather with pleasant breezes. Again there has been much eating, drinking, laughing and reminiscing amongst a group of very good friends, we even managed an extra husband this year who turned out to be a barbeque expert extraordinaire, three barbeques in the splendid outside ‘dining room’ joined by our friends from Dramia – quite a party. We also celebrated a wedding anniversary  - balloons, bunting and champagne were brought out and dancing to all the 60’s hits. Our last evening and we are off to Mama’s in Dramia. See you again we hope - September 2012

Thank you for the use of your marvellous villa. The views, pool and gardens are fabulous. The book you prepared was brilliant. Stellios was a great help. Thank you again and we hope to come back soon - August 2012

I wanted to thank you for our stay in your beautiful home.  We had a lovely week, it is so tranquil at the house that we didn't really want to go very far, we had a trip to the south of the island and a few excursions locally but that was all. The bottom part of the house was ideal for my husband who is in a wheelchair and he spent a lovely week enjoying the terrace and the views. The house and gardens are beautiful, the views are wonderful, it's a little piece of paradise. You couldn't visit Aloni House and not enjoy your stay.  Thanks again for our lovely week - May 2012

Aloni House was a fantastic venue for 6 Scots and 1 Kiwi to celebrate their 50th birthday re-union. The last time we were in Crete together was on a school trip 34 years ago in 1977 when we hiked through The White Mountains and The Samaria Gorge, sleeping under the stars! This time we "did" the gorge but instead of rucksacks, sleeping bags and Kendal mint cake we wanted to do it in a bit more style. Aloni House provided that and more. A great time was had by all - thanks - October 2011

A wonderful, luxurious stay with lots of fun and games. This house has been a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen was well equipped and the pool was 1st class, amongst the best we have seen. The BBQ area was incredible but the odd extra light would come in useful. The service staff were brilliant, fast, cheerful and efficient! The beds were very comfy and there was loads of storage space and the bathrooms were perfect. We did have problems keeping the shutters, doors and windows from blowing to in the wind and the TV was out of action some of the time but this did not spoil a wonderful week - thanks- September 2011

We had a wonderful week in your beautiful Aloni House with its stunning views, landscaped gardens and wonderful pool. The flowers and scents are amazing and a riot of colour with the bougainvillea, hibiscus, oleander and jasmine. We are a group of close friends who have been together every summer for 25 years. This year we wanted something really special and Aloni House has lived up to all our expectations and more (so much so it could become a regular annual event). It is our last evening together and we have had supper here and relived Mamma Mia to the sounds of Abba. Thank you for having such a special place. Constantine at the pottery was very complimentary - June 2011

We made it to Crete at last!! There were so many hurdles to overcome on the way. I'm glad we arrived here safely as the villa has been everything we hoped for and more besides. it has been blissful, the superb house, the lovely garden and pool, the amazing scenery, wild flowers and bird song have combined to provide a great holiday. With sincere thanks to you Jan, for your help in salvaging this holiday, and to the owners of Aloni villa for allowing us to use their superb home - June 2011

My family really loved the villa especially the pool. I loved exploring every corner of the villa's garden. My daughters and I were amazed by the wealth of wild flowers in the area. We enjoyed 8 days of glorious sunshine, and the week became hotter and hotter. With sincere thanks to you Jan, for your help in salvaging this holiday, and to the owners of Aloni villa for allowing us to use their superb home ~ June 2011

We had a great time here at this amazing villa, it seems you thought of everything - from the view, the house, the lighting, the kitchen and everything else! We have celebrated our father's 60th birthday here with the whole family and he says it is a birthday he will never forget. Thanks. P.S. Surely we will come again! ~ October 2010

Thank you for two wonderful weeks. The weather was a bit variable but that did not limit our enjoyment. The palace of Knossos is a must as is Chania town where we found some marvellous tavernas overlooking the harbour. When we strayed from the villa, we spent most of our time in Georgioupolis, the Kalavaki beach there is very peaceful and clean. We though the tavernas in Georgioupolis were diverse and good. Thanks again for a wonderful stay ~ October 2009

A beautiful and well appointed villa with an excellent pool and views to die for. It was so nice that we found it hard to venture out much. If I had to criticise anything and I am reluctant, it would be that we would have appreciated more local information re the best tavernas and shops - many thanks from us all ~ September 2009

A fantastically equipped base. We really enjoyed the outside areas and gardens - everything you could possibly need for an amazing holiday. Walking the local lanes was particularly enjoyable and the nearby village of Kournas gave us a real sense of Crete. Kalavaki beach is a must, we leave a little piece of our heart here!! ~ August 2009

Thank you for a fantastic holiday in this lovely house, we especially enjoyed the pool, we will definitely think about re booking for next year! ~ July 2009
