For the majority of the year charter flights fly direct to Crete two airports, Heraklion or Chania and come in on a regular basis from many European countries. From the UK there are flights from various cities.

Easyjet fly to Chania from Gatwick on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, and, in peak season (July, August and September) on Saturdays. Easyjet have also introduced a new route to Heraklion from Luton on Wednesdays and Saturdays and increased flights to Heraklion from Bristol to also include Saturdays.
Ryanair Saturday flight to Chania from Leeds/Bradford from next April 2012.
